Why Have a Dress Code?

  • To promote a safe and respectful learning environment

Benefits of a Dress Code:

  1. Limits violence in schools
  2. Helps students focus on academics
  3. Promotes safety and inclusiveness

New Futures Dress Code Policy

No student in any APS setting may wear clothing that contains:

  • Obscene or violent language or images
  • Depictions of alcohol or drugs or other illegal items or activities
  • Racist content, hate speech, profanity, or pornography
  • Accessories that could be considered dangerous or used as a weapon
  • Undergarments may not be worn as outerwear or should not be visible
  • Hoodies may not cover the face

  1. 1st Offense: Staff/Student Contact* and student will be provided a change of clothes
  2. 2nd Offense: Staff/Student Contact*, Administrative/Parent Contact/Conference
  3. 3rd Offense: Staff/Student Contact*, Administrative/Parent Contact/Conference, and Student Contract
